Message	aside from being quieter, the BDE units are immune to the other common VTC sprocket issue: oil leaks OEM VTC sprockets will fail eventually when the back plate starts slipping, which will wipe out the o-ring that seals them. Brett's are designed with a dowel pin that secures the back plate, preventing any slip.
